Rally from Hiranandani Estate in Support of Jan Lokpal Bill

A big rally in support of Jan Lokpal bill under the auspices India Against Corruption organization started from Hiranandani Estate at the announced time 6.00 p.m. At the starting point there were around 300 persons in the rally. Children as well as old persons were in the rally. By the time the rally touched the main highway of Ghodbunder Road, the people in the rally swelled to 750. As many times it is said, the persons in the flats do not want, it is heartening to note 750 persons from an elite area joined the rally. The rally was supported by Hiranandani Estate Residents Welfare Association, Hiranandani Estate News, Hiranandani Estate Rotary Club, Hiranandani Estate Sindhi Sabha and Hiranandani Estate Ayyappa Seva Samiti. The process will go to many other residential area en route to Talao Pali near Thane Railway Station. The procession began with good number of persons at it starting point.

Rallies in Ghodbunder Road Area, Thane in Support Jan Lokpal Bill

On Sunday, 21.8.2011, there was rally in the Ghodbunder Road area of Thane, Maharashtra. The rally was organized by residents association of Ghodbunder Road area. The rally started at Swastik Residency, Anand Nagar went through various housing societies, Vijaya Nagari, Vasant Leela, Hiranandani Estate, Rutu Estate, various estates in Brahmand area and stopped at Brahmand bus stop. Various people addressed the gathering at the end of the rally. Around 200 persons including young and old and ladies and gentlemen participated in the rally and shouted slogans in support of Jan Lokpal bill with enthusiasm. This rally was held in morning and it reached Hirandani Estate at around 11.30 am.

In the evening another rally was planned to start 6.00 pm and this rally is up to Talao Pali, near Thane Railway Station. The rally will take a route of around 10 kilometres and it starts from Hiranandani Estate, Ghodbunder Road, Thane. Patlipada residents are planning a rally within the streets of the areas also in the evening. Thus it seems that more and more people are showing support to Jan Lokpal bill agitation being spearheaded by Anna Hazare even in remote areas of the country.

Singapore National Day - 9 August 2011

Singapore celebrates National Day on 9th August. On 9th August 1965, Singapore became an independent State.

For the National Day and Parade of 2011, its 46th Independence Day, Singapore chose the theme Majula!The Singapore Spirit. Majulah! means onward. It calls on Singaporeans to move forward together to overcome challenges and build a better Singapore. The logo for the occasion also symbolizes it.

The events for the National Parade started with an exhibition on 31st July 2011 and the exhibition will go up to 14th August.
